NO quarter was asked or given in a fearsome opening five minutes as both sets of forwards tested each other out.
Heath opened the scoring with a piece of Kieron Maddocks’ brilliance, darting blind, committing the full back to put Darren Woods in at the corner. Shaun Quinn converted.
The game was held up for 25 minutes as Miners lost their left centre to a dislocated knee cap. But Heath showed no mercy piling on the pressure.
Drives from the rejuvenated Martin Shea and then Maddocks and Mark Beech down the right gave Heath good position.
On the last Chris Frodsham hoisted the bomb. The ball was left to bounce by the Miners full back allowing Adam Walsh to scoop it up and score.
Heath stretched their lead on the half hour as another Frodsham kick was left to bounce.
This time the full back took ages to take a long, low grubber allowing David Johnson to pick up and score.
As predicted Miners came out firing and worked a two man overlap down the left for the winger to score.
The visitors gained in confidence but Frodsham took the game right away intercepting 30 metres out to go in at the corner.
Another bomb, this time from Andy Stott was again spilled allowing Woods to score his second and Quinn’s conversion completed a comprehensive win.
Man of the Match was Andy Stott for his control of the game and for setting the tempo in defence in the opening quarter.
