A development company has submitted plans for 121 homes and a 62-bed care home at the former Riverside pool site in Braintree.
Parklands Developments has applied to Braintree Council for full permission to redevelop the site in St John Avenue.
The firm had been hoping to submit plans for 123 homes and a 80-bed care home, but the numbers were reduced following advice and negotiations with the council.
There would now be 27 one-bed flats, 57 two-bed flats, 19 two-bed houses, 13 three-bed houses and five four-bed houses, of which 55 would be affordable homes.
Jon Nash, co-director at Parklands, added how the firm was led down a “more contemporary route” with the design by the district and county councils.
