A DAY at Malvern Spa, a new i-pod and a bottle of top-quality vodka are among the prizes up for grabs in a raffle for St James’ CofE Primary School.

It is hoped the items will help the school to raise the final £9,000 towards the construction of a new building which will free up space for use as a school hall.

They have raised £61,000 so far and tickets go on sale today for what is hoped will be one of the final fundraising efforts.

Secretary of the PTA, Vicki Walker, said: “We have managed to get our hands on some fantastic goodies and hope these will attract people’s attention.

“To raise £61,000 is a lot as there are only 90 children in the school. But it has not only been those associated with the school who have done this, the villagers have been fantastic.”

Tickets are £5 each and are available from The Knitting Parlour on Graham Road, Great Malvern, from the school office and online at helpstjames.org.

The Draw will take place on Friday April 23 at a St Georges Day celebration evening at Pepper & Oz.
