They were lifted to safety in special high-reach appliances as more than 40 firefighters tackled the flames in Roslea Street, Dennistoun. In all, 130 people were removed from the building and surrounding homes. Those rescued were checked by paramedics but no one was hurt.
Emergency services were called at 1.25am yesterday and a temporary shelter for those who had to leave their homes was set up at Whitehill Secondary School.
The cause of the blaze is being investigated, which police said was "suspicious".
