A BOGUS caller who robbed a 95 year-old woman is being hunted by police.

The elderly woman was targeted at around 4.15pm on Friday at her home in Tealing Crescent in Mosspark in Glasgow's South Side.

She answered the door to a man who said that he was from the water board.

He said that he needed access to her home because of a leak in a neighbour's house.

The woman allowed him into her home for a short period of time and whilst he was there, he stole her handbag.

The man was last seen running away from the house and is described as white, 5ft 10in, black hair wearing a black bubble jacket, blue jeans and black trainers.

The elderly woman was left extremely upset as a result of this incident and police have urged anyone with any information that could assist in identifying the man responsible to contact Govan Police Office on telephone number 101.
