A NEW, multi-million pound sports centre for disabled athletes will be created as part of the Commonwealth Games legacy programme.
Shona Robison, Scottish Government Sports Minister, announced £6million of funding for the new £9m para-sport centre in Largs, North Ayrshire. Sportsscotland will provide the balance of the funding.
Ms Robison said the centre would ensure there was opportunities for para-sport athletes.
The investment will help provide 60 fully adapted residential rooms at the existing National Sport Centre.
The centre is due to be completed in 2016.
