A NEW business school opened by a Glasgow university in London has been welcomed by the city's fashion community.
The GCU British School of Fashion is based at Glasgow Caledonian University's London campus in Fashion Street, Spitalfields, in the city's east end.
It will offer MSc qualifications in brand management, luxury retail management and international fashion marketing as well as the UK's first MBA in luxury brand marketing.
Mary McGowne, founder of the Scottish Style Awards, said the school would help nurture future talent.
She said: "The reputation of Glasgow fashion designers is recognised internationally.
"Jonathan Saunders, Christopher Kane, Cathal McAteer for FOLK, Marc Psarolis for Duchamp, Deryck Walker, Louise Gray - the city's fashion talent is formidable.
"London is almost always the next step for fashion graduates so the launch of this new GCU campus in London, one of the world's most important fashion capitals - and the direct link it creates to Glasgow - presents tremendous opportunities for the next generation."
