LIFELONG Evening Times reader Paddy Gillespie is the latest lucky winner of £1000.
The 64-year-old from Neilston, East Renfrewshire, was awarded his cheque after he won our home delivery competition. Mr Gillespie was overjoyed at the news after we surprised him at his home.
The retired council worker revealed he wanted to spend some of the money on his older brother, who has a disability. Mr Gillespie has cared for his brother for the last 20 years. The Rangers fan also said he is in the process of decorating his home so the cash would help towards buying new carpets.
He said: "I've been getting the paper delivered for eight years but I've been reading it since I was a boy."
The monthly competition has seen scores of readers scoop cheques for being loyal customers.
