A sex offender who served time for abusing three girls is back in jail after failing to tell police he had changed his name.

Francis Feely, 47, was jailed for eight years in 1997 for abused the girls, aged three, five and nine. He moved to Cyprus in June 2008.

Feely, previously of Glasgow, changed his name to Francis Purden but came back to Scotland in January this year to buy a car.

Feely was required to tell police that he had returned to the UK but didn’t and was arrested at Gatwick Airport on his way back to Paphos.

Feely appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court where he was sentenced to 10 months for failing to notify police that he had changed his passport in February 2006 and had returned to the UK in January 2010.
