HUNDREDS of activists were to blockade Faslane Naval Base, the home port to the UK's Trident nuclear weapons system, today.
Protesters were expected to demand the UK disarm Trident and let Scotland lead the way to a world free of nuclear weapons.
It follows Saturday's demonstration in Glasgow's George Square and followed a weekend of protest calling on the UK to Scrap Trident and fund human needs.
It is one of more than 100 similar protests in dozens of countries as part of a Global Day of Action on Military Spending.
