A LOCAL authority is forging ahead with plans to deliver a range of new affordable housing in the area over the next four years.
East Dunbartonshire Council's plans include homes for rent as well as a number of shared equity properties.
The council has a total budget of £9.45 million and plans to build a range of affordable homes in Bearsden, Milngavie, Milton of Campsie, Bishopbriggs, Kirkintilloch and Torrance.
Councillor Ashay Ghai said: "Given the average cost of housing in the area, and the lack of availability of affordable homes it is particularly important that we, as a council, do what we can."
