AMATEUR footballer Kieran Connachan has been shortlisted in a nationwide competition to win a professional playing contract with an English club.
Attacking midfielder Kieran, from Blantyre, will take part in the first round of trials for Samsung's Win A Pro Contract that could see him sign up for one of three Football League sides - Swindon Town, Wycombe Wanderers or Leyton Orient.
More than 5700 players from all over the country entered the competition and Kieran is one of 360 hopefuls through to the skill testing sessions.
The 21-year-old will be tested at Goals Soccer Centre, Leeds, on Sunday.
Hopefuls will be tested at regional skills trials and 11-a-side matches as they bid to kick-start their dreams of becoming a professional footballer.
