GLASGOW student Andy Law has been chosen by the British Council as an ambassador to its UK China Student Forum 2013.
Andy is a fourth-year business and marketing student at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU). He is the only student from a Scots university among the six chosen to go to the event in Beijing.
Students at the forum discuss international education and aim to raise awareness of student mobility and the benefits of an international experience.
Andy, from Airdrie, said: "The forum is an amazing opportunity to take part in discussions on something I am passionate about."
He added: "I caught the travelling bug after taking part in a GCU study trip to one of its partners in India, Chitkara University.
"I'm excited about the challenges the forum will bring and I am looking forward to learning more about China and experiencing all it has to offer."
Andy was selected after submitting essays on whether travelling abroad should be a compulsory part of education.
Rhona Hodgart of GCU said: "We are delighted by Andy's success and are very proud of him."
Andy, 21, will also be back in China later this summer after successfully applying for a three-month internship in Shanghai.
