A scheme has been launched to provide cash for community-based projects in Glasgow.
Up to £1000 will be made available to groups, organisations or individuals located in or serving the city.
Arise – the Alliance to Reward Initiatives and Social Enterprise – has been set up by the developers of the new shopping and housing development being built opposite Buchanan Galleries.
Land Securities, Henderson Global Investors and Balfour Beattie say the scheme is part of their commitment to support the communities in which they operate.
The first set of awards will be made in August and the selection committee includes Tim Blott, managing director of The Herald and Evening Times; Liz Cameron, the city council's spokeswoman for jobs and the economy; Jim McDonald, Strathclyde University principal and Sandra White, Glasgow Kelvin MSP.
Sean Curtis, of Land Securities, chairman of the Arise Glasgow board, said: "We are keen to play our part in supporting and engaging with our community."
