Sailings to and from Arran have been disrupted after a "technical fault" was found on a ferry.

The 12:30pm and 3:15pm sailings from Ardrossan have been cancelled, as well as the 1:50pm and 4:40pm services from Brodick.

A spokesman for operators Caledonian MacBrayne said: "The MV Caledonian Isles remains in Ardrossan with a technical fault.

"We have now identified the fault and located spare parts which are being delivered by courier to the vessel.

"A soon as the parts arrive our engineers will carry out the necessary repairs and tests."

The spokesman said they would work on the problem overnight and said it was expected to resume at 7am tomorrow.

He said anyone looking for information should check the Caledonian MacBrayne website and apologised for any inconvenience.
