THE BBC has been forced to apologise after a journalist posted a tweet saying the Queen had been taken unwell during a "technical rehearsal" for an obituary.
The broadcaster is understood to have been rehearsing covering the death of a major Royal figure when a number of tweets were sent out in error.
A statement from the BBC said: "During a technical rehearsal for an obituary, tweets were mistakingly sent from the account of a BBC journalist saying that a member of the Royal family had been taken ill. The tweets were swifly deleted and we apologise for any offence."
