Bid to reduce food waste

households in Scotland waste an average of £430 each year by throwing away food, figures show.

They also reveal about £1billion of food and drink is dumped annually.

New a campaign is encouraging people to reduce waste and save money. The Food Waste campaign wants people to plan their weekly meals in advance and freeze leftover food.

It is claimed each household could save £35 a week by following these measures.
