Bingo joy as players cash in with £9m

A CHAIN of bingo halls across Glasgow and its outskirts paid £9.19million in prize money to players in the first six months this year.

The cash was paid by the Mecca halls at The Quay, The Forge and in Drumchapel and Rutherglen from New Year to June.

Mark Henderson, the company's area manager in Glasgow, said: "To pay that amount of prize money to our customers in just six months is fantastic.

"I think people new to the game find it surprising not just how much fun they can have playing, but also how much money they can win, whether in clubs or online, or now on mobile phones with our real time prize money apps.

"There is always a brilliant atmosphere in the club when someone wins and other players are genuinely happy for the winner – there is a real sense of excitement and camaraderie."
