A WOMAN was treated for smoke inhalation after a blaze at a West End flat.
Firefighters raced to the property in White Street, Hyndland after a pot caught fire.
The woman was given oxygen therapy at the scene.
Fire chiefs said a 999 call raised the alarm at 12.30am on Wednesday.
Group Manager Kenny Hankinson, the officer commanding Yorkhill and Maryhill community fire stations, said: "This incident shows the importance of early warning when fire strikes.
"The activation of smoke alarms drew attention to the emerging danger and prompted a 999 call, which meant firefighters were able to get there while the fire was still confined to the pot and before the smoke caused serious injury."
