THE BODY of a woman found in an East End park has been identified as that of missing Wilhelmina Rooney.
The 71-year-old, who was known as Anne, was discovered yesterday at around 4pm in a park near the city's Tynecastle Street.
The pensioner was last seen at her home in East Kilbride on Monday January 19 around 10am.
Police have confirmed that the body found at the Carntyne greenspace has now been identified as that of Ms Rooney.
A post mortem is due to take place in a bid to discover the cause of her death, however it is not being treated as suspicious.
A report will also be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
