Hallowe'en party-goer Craig McCaffrey was reported missing on Friday, October 26.

As reported in later editions of yesterday's Evening Times, police confirmed the body of 24-year-old has been recovered.

It was pulled from the river near the Science Centre at Pacific Quay on Monday morning.

Police said there were no suspicious circum-stances and that the post-mortem will take place next week.

Craig, of Castlemilk, was last seen leaving a party, at the city's O2 Academy, in Eglinton Street, with his brother and two friends. He was heading towards Bridge Street, still wearing his gorilla costume.

A spokeswoman for Strathclyde Police said: "Around 10.05am on Monday, the body of a man was recovered from the River Clyde near to the Science Centre.

"We can now confirm that the man has been identified as 24-year-old Craig McCaffrey.

"A full report will be sent to the procurator fiscal. There appear to be no suspicious circumstances."

At the time, police said his disappearance was "completely out of character".

Friends and family posted tribute messages to Craig on social networking sites. One wrote: "RIP Craig, glad you have been found and can finally be at rest."

Another friend added: "My thoughts are with your family and friends, such a tragedy."
