Bogus caller alert

A SERIAL bogus caller preying on elderly people is being hunted by police in Glasgow.

Elderly people in the Lambhill and Summerston areas of the city were targeted and robbed by the thief within a week.

The first incident happened on June 18 in Summerston, when the robber entered the property of a 90-year-old man.

He managed to gain access by saying he needed to check the gas and electricity at the property.

After distracting the elderly resident, the thief stole a small amount of cash and ran off. The suspect then targeted a 78-year-old man, at a property in Lambhill.

Again, he claimed to be a workman who needed access to check the gas and electricity and escaped with a sum of money.
