A GANG of masked thugs stole dozens of bottles of booze during a raid on a famous Rangers pub.

The brazen raid took place over night and saw 60 bottles of spirits stolen from The Louden Tavern.

Pub staff said some bottles were even ripped from the wall above the bar - and the optics were also taken.

Police have launched a probe into the raid on the pub, in Copland Road, near Ibrox Stadium.

It is understood bottles of vodka, whisky, and gin were taken sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. The value of the haul is not known but could be in the region of £1500,

A spokesman for the bar said: "Sixty 1.5 litre spirits were taken. If anyone knows, or hears, of anyone selling them please contact us."

The Louden Tavern is famous for its events with Rangers legends, including former manager Walter Smith, and ex-players Fernando Ricksen and Lorenzo Amoruso.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "At around midday on Wednesday November 12, police responded to a report of a robbery.

"Officers were called to The Louden Tavern in Copland Road, in Glasgow. Inquiries are continuing."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
