A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident that allegedly saw an object thrown at Santa Claus while he carried out a charity sleigh run.
As reported in yesterday's Evening Times, Father Christmas was touring Airdrie, as part of an annual fund- raising drive for the Airdrie and Coatbridge Round Table appeal.
However, as the tour reached Oronsay Road, a missile was allegedly thrown at Santa and his sleigh.
The 69-year-old man who was playing Santa was left shaken by the incident.
The incident led to part of the tour on Sunday afternoon being abandoned.
Strathclyde Police said the 21-year-old would be the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal.
