INDONESIA: A lawyer representing a convicted British grandmother has formally appealed the death sentence she received for smuggling cocaine worth £1.58million into the island of Bali in a suitcase.
In an appeal filed to the higher court, lawyer Fadillah Agus said Lindsay Sandiford, 56, gave information that led to other convictions. However, that help was not considered by the court.
Agus said Sandiford, of Gloucestershire acknowledged her crime, but felt the sentence was too harsh.
