Former X Factor finalists The MacDonald Brothers played a special gig to thank staff for a photo shoot.

The duo sang at Xscape’s Sno!Zone a t Braehead where they were pictured for the cover of their Christmas album.

Craig and Brian, both 23, from Ayr also signed copies of the album – called Merry Christmas – after the gig at the Xscape Log Cabin.

Craig said: “We took the Christmas album cover pictures there so this was a thank you! Luckily it was in the warm and not on the slopes.”

The brothers’ latest single, Three Cheers for Christmas, comes out on Sunday. It is in aid of the Cash For Kids charity and will be available for download for one week only.

The pair reached the final of The X Factor in 2007 – Craig tipped Joe to win this year’s contest – and have enjoyed success since being voted off the show.

They sold out Glasgow’s Pavilion Theatre and are currently on a Scottish tour.

They have also been successful in Australia.

Superstar Elton John even wrote them a song called Runaway (Do You Love Me) and when their self-titled album came out they were mobbed by fans at HMV in Glasgow’s Argyle Street.
