PEOPLE in Glasgow's north are being urged to roll up their sleeves and help save lives.
The Scottish Blood Service is short of a variety of blood types after the festive season.
However the service is particularly in need of O Rh Negative, which anyone can receive, including new-born babies.
Every minute of every day someone in Scotland is receiving blood but only 5% of the population are active blood donors.
The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) must welcome 5000 blood donors every week to meet the needs of patients in Scotland.
