Bright Care, which featured in the Evening Times' Glasgow Means Business column for start-up businesses in July, has appointed Jim McGlade, from Airdrie, to take on the role.

The 50-year-old former company direc-tor - who oversaw the temporary accomm-odation measures at the London 2012 Olympics - will open a franchise in North Glasgow.

It is planned to create creating 60 jobs by 2015.

Mr McGlade said:"I am looking forward enormously to joining up with the Bright Care team, who have already transformed the way older people in Scotland are looked after, and introduced a care model with strong values and an enviable business ethos.

"By making progress on Bright Care's nationwide franchising campaign, we can bring the highest level of quality and profession-alism to ever greater numbers of people."
