THE CATHOLIC Church has condemned East Dunbartonshire Council's plans to close the only Catholic Primary School in Milngavie.
The Archdiocese of Glasgow branded the plan "unacceptable" in a statement handed out to parishioners at mass in Milngavie and Bearsden.
East Dunbartonshire Council's formal consultation on the merger of St Joseph's and St Andrew's primary schools begins today.
