A NEW Glasgow service which allows terminally ill patients to be treated at home has been shortlisted for a national award.
After a patient is discharged, nurses set up support networks for the first few days at home, and hold daily meetings with health care assistants to monitor progress. More than 200 people in the city's north east have benefited from the service set up by Marie Curie Cancer Care and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
The North East Glasgow Palliative Care Fast Track Discharge Service has been shortlisted for the End of Life Care award at the Care Integration Awards.
