A hit-and-run driver is being hunted by police after a cyclist was killed in Glasgow.
The 22-year-old man was struck by a vehicle last night while he was riding in Paisley Road West in Kinning Park.
Emergency services were called and the road was closed for some time. Motorists were diverted while police investigations were carried out.
A dark coloured vehicle knocked the cyclist from his bike near the Portman Street junction around 5.45pm.
The car continued driving west towards Paisley.
The cyclist was taken to the Southern General Hospital where he later died.
Police have appealed for witnesses.
They are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the accident, which happened during the busy evening rush hour.
Officers are also appealing to anyone who may have seen the car fleeing the scene.
The victim's bike was seen lying in the street while crash investigators tried to piece together exactly what happened.
The area was cordoned off for several hours.
Earlier this week a man died after being hit by a taxi in a South Side street.
The 31-year-old was walking in Kennishead Road, Thornliebank, shortly after midnight.
A private-hire cab driver saw the man and stopped.
But another taxi – described as a white Hackney – drove around the vehicle and struck the man.
He was taken to Southern General Hospital where he died.
