PUPILS from an East end school are heading to Buckingham Palace for the launch of the Glasgow 2014 Queen's Baton Relay.
The 25 youngsters from Bannerman High in Baillieston have been picked to take part in the ceremony led by children's organisation Unicef UK.
They will be among 71 young who have been selected to represent the one billion young people across the Commonwealth.
Each young person will carry a flag of the Commonwealth and attend the ceremony at Buckingham Palace when the Queen will place her message to athletes and the Commonwealth into the baton.
They will then join cyclist Sir Chris Hoy and the baton as part of a procession up the Mall to mark the start of the baton's global journey.
Bannerman High was chosen because of its ongoing work with Unicef UK.
