Commuters travelling to and from Glasgow faced disruption today after a signalling fault.
Some trains coming in and out of Glasgow Central were delayed or cancelled because of the signalling problem at Ayr.
The fault hit trains between Glasgow and Ayr.
Engineers were working fix the problem.
Services began to return to normal shortly before 9am on Thursday.
