STILL Game fans who missed out on tickets for next year's live stage shows at the Hydro have another chance to be there as five more extra dates have been announced.

As revealed in later editions of yesterday's Evening Times, Still Game star Ford Kiernan announced the extra dates.

Overwhelming demand for tickets prompted the move, taking the total number of performances to 21.

A thrilled Ford Kiernan told the Evening Times: "This is beyond our wildest dreams.

"We never imagined just how successful the show would be and to be adding five more dates is quite phenomenal.

"We're just to happy that there are so many Still Game fans out there who are still game."

The new shows will take place at the SSE Hydro on Friday 19, Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September 2014.

There will be two shows on both Saturday and Sunday.

Still Game was Scotland's most popular sitcom and ran for five years on BBC Scotland, starring Kiernan and Greg Hemphill as the OAP double act Jack and Victor.

Greg Hemphill, said, "We are still utterly overwhelmed by the public's response to the show's return."

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday from www.thehydro.com or on www.ticketmaster.co.uk

You can also call 0844 395 4000 for tickets.

Despite only being open for two months, the £125million Hydro arena has already scooped three national awards.

It won the 'Most Stylish Venue' gong at the recently held Scottish Style Awards and two further accolades for design including the highly coveted Supreme Award by the Glasgow Institute of Architects.

The Foster and Partners designed arena received the first Supreme Award to be handed out by the Glasgow Institute of Architects in three years.

John Sharkey, CEO, SECC said: "This is fantastic news for a very new building."
