Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was racially abused during a confrontation which happened at about 11.45am on Tuesday in St Andrew's Drive near Shields Road.

Police say the 45-year-old victim, who was driving a Toyota Avensis, was cut up by a silver Volkswagen Golf.

The Toyota driver was then approached on -foot by the Golf driver, who challenged him to a fight and shouted racist abuse.

The culprit then drove off.

He was described as around 25-years-old, with cropped brown hair. He was wearing a red, hooded top at the time.

Detective Inspector Tom McKean, who is investigating the incident said: "It's believed the silver Golf had distinctive red detail on its alloy wheels.

"I'm keen to speak to anyone who saw the two cars and their drivers on St Andrew's Drive between 11.40am and 11.45am on Tuesday."

Anyone with information is asked to contact CID at Gorbals Police Office on 0141 532 5300 or the non-emergency 101 number.
