THEY fell in love following a chance meeting in a Glasgow nightclub eight years ago.

Now Laura Townsley and Scott McSeveney's dreams will become a reality after winning the Evening Times wedding competition.

The couple, who live in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire, will marry in style thanks to the £12,000 prize.

The loved-up pair received the most votes - and they are now planning their special day.

Laura, 33, said her parents Joe and Patricia Townsley entered them into our competition.

Laura said: "My mum and dad thought they would enter us on the off chance that we'd win - and we did.

"The whole family and all our friends have been voting for us. We've been sharing it on social media.

"I can't thank my parents enough."

Mum-of-two Laura, who works at a solicitor's office in Airdrie, said Scott, who is originally from Shotts, proposed to her on a very special day.

He got down on one knee on Christmas morning.

Laura said: "He proposed to me when we were opening our gifts. The kids were there to see it as well.

"I didn't have to think about it, not at all. I was taken aback but I knew he was for me."

Laura, who has a 16-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, met Scott on a night out in Glasgow.

They kept their relationship hidden for six months because Laura did not want to confuse her children.

But they have been inseparable ever since.

Laura said: "We started dating for a wee while but we didn't tell anyone we were seeing each other for about six months.

"I had two kids and I didn't want to introduce them to Scott straight away.

"We realised we felt quite serious about each other.

"The kids are so happy we're getting married, they love Scott."

The happy couple have enjoyed several family holidays - and even managed to visit Tenerife for a romantic break without the kids last year.

Scott, who works for the Co-operative Group, has supported Laura throughout her law studies.

Laura said: "The main person I'd like to say thanks to is Scott because he's just been amazing over the past few years. He's great with the kids. He is the love of my life."

They were saving for their wedding but now they've won the competition they hope to get married later this year.

The prize includes the use of Glasgow's luxury venue - 29 Private Member's Club - which is set over two floors in a grand sandstone building in Glasgow's Royal Exchange Square.

Up to 140 guests can be accommodated in 29's exclusive Supper Club, where couples can enjoy their big day in style.

Licensed to hold civil partnerships and civil ceremonies, the lucky couple will be offered their own wedding planner to guide them through the process and make sure their day is extra special.

Laura and Scott will also receive a wedding car from West of Scotland Wedding Cars, a stunning cake from Special Day Cakes, room dressing from Make Believe Events, a hen party at Glasgow's One Up, bridal makeup by Arlene Knox Make Up, Kilt hire from Slater's, an evening dinner jacket, a piper, a wedding dress by Etiquette Bridal Couture, rings from the Diamond Studio, and a stay in honeymoon suite at the Hilton Hotel.
