A MAN allegedly carried out a carjacking at knifepoint hours before he is accused of murdering a woman in her home and trying to kill her 85-year-old partner.

Taxi driver Daniel O'Donnell, 34, picked out murder accused Paul McManus to police as the man who tried to steal his BMW 3 series and stabbed him in the knee.

Giving evidence at the trial at the High Court in Glasgow, he said McManus had a knife in his hand and "made gestures like a stabbing motion."

McManus, 22, denies murdering 51-year-old Isabelle Sanders and attempting to murder her partner Norman Busby, at their home in Raewood Drive, Glasgow, on April 9. He also denies trying to steal Mr O'Donnell's car.

The trial continues.
