A ROAD was closed for nearly seven hours while investigation work into a collision took place.
Two people were taken to hospital after the crash between a motorbike and a car on Wednesday.
Emergency services were called to the A737 at Beith, North Ayrshire, at about 9.40pm.
The male driver of the motorbike and his female passenger were injured and were taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock.
The driver of the car was not injured. The road re-opened at about 4am.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said inquiries were continuing.
