FIREFIGHTERS used specialist hydraulic cutting equipment to rescue a man from an overturned car.
The incident took place on the A77 at Ballantrae, at around 10.40am on Sunday.
After being freed from the car, he was taken to Ayr Hospital.
Watch Manager Ronnie O'Hare, said: "A casualty was trapped in the vehicle and firefighters removed its roof to allow his safe release.
"While our crews effected the rescue our ambulance colleagues assessed the extent of his injuries and took charge of his care and police officers controlled traffic to ensure the safety of everyone at the scene. "After we removed the casualty from the vehicle he received further treatment from paramedics and was taken to Ayr Hospital by ambulance."
