Crash lorry driver cut free

A LORRY driver had to be cut free from the wreckage after two HGVs collided.

Emergency services raced to the scene of the crash, which happened in Salsburgh, North Lanarkshire, yesterday evening.

The injured driver was taken to Wishaw General Hospital for treatment. The driver of the other lorry was not injured.

A Strathclyde Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "A difficult incident was resolved quickly, with the best possible outcome for the casualty."
