Crash lorry driver's lucky escape

A LORRY driver escaped injury when his vehicle overturned next to the River Clyde at Glasgow's Pacific Quay.

The incident happened outside the Science Centre as the lorry was making a delivery yesterday.

It is thought the lorry tipped over as it was reversing while dropping off goods for the berthed Waverley Paddle Steamer.

A rescue truck was sent out to help remove the stricken vehicle.

Fortunately there were no other vehicles involved and disruption was minimal. The driver of the lorry did not need medical treatment and his vehicle was later towed away.

A police spokeswoman said officers had not been called to the incident.
