THE world was given the second glimpse of Prince George as the newest royal was christened in a private ceremony.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were beaming yesterday as they emerged with their three-month-old son from the historic Chapel Royal at St James's Palace, London.

The royal baby, who was wearing a traditional long robe, was in the arms of his dad Prince William as the family arrived for the short service.

Crowds gathered to watch the young prince, his relatives and godparents - who included Zara Phillips - attend the event.

The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry saw George baptised by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The Middletons were also in attendance and looked thrilled for the young couple and their son.

Kate wore a white jacket and a hat for the occasion, while William wore a suit with a white shirt and pale blue tie.

It was Prince George's second time in public.

His only previous public appearance was when William and Kate left St Mary's Hospital with him on July 22.
