A Glasgow lawyer is calling for the people at the helm of Scotland's biggest landlord to be replaced by tycoons such as Duncan Bannatyne.
Govan Law Centre chief Mike Dailly accused Glasgow Housing Association's board of being "insular" and "exclusive".
He said radical thinkers such as Bannatyne - face of BBC TV show Dragons' Den - were needed to improve housing across the city.
Mr Dailly, who regularly represents tenants and homeowners in court battles with the housing association, said an immediate boardroom clear-out was the only way to make GHA a success.
And he insisted Clydebank-born Bannatyne, who built up a £160million business empire from scratch, would be the ideal person to get involved.
The lawyer will repeat his call this weekend at a housing conference to be attended by tenants, politicians and academics.
He said: "We need radical thinkers who have the experience and confidence to run a big organisation like the GHA.
"Duncan Bannatyne is an ideal example - he's proved himself to be a real success.
"The current GHA board isn't offering any strategic leadership or effective management and should be cleared out."
Mr Dailly's call comes a week after GHA's Chief Executive Michael Lennon stepped down before the end of his contract.
However, the GHA today denied its board, which is comprised of tenants, councillors and independents, was failing and said Mr Dailly was talking "nonsense".
GHA board chairwoman Sandra Forsythe said: "Every single Board member has a wealth of experience and knowledge and it is nonsense for Mr Dailly to suggest otherwise."
The Monitoring Scottish Housing Conference will take place at Pollokshaws Burgh Hall, Glasgow, tomorrow from 10am-5pm.
