LibDems to sign up ‘2000 nurses’

THE LibDems revealed plans today for 2000 extra nurses.

Party leader Nicol Stephen said he wanted to "kick-start a local healthcare revolution".

He said: "My priority for health in Scotland is to deliver faster diagnosis and treatment with new local health centres and extra nurses and dentists to staff them.

"Scottish Liberal Democrats are committed to providing 2000 extra nurses for better local healthcare, with many of these new nurses based in our new local health centres."

The Tories and SNP concentrated their campaign efforts on crime.

Tory deputy leader Murdo Fraser said they wanted to recruit 1500 more police officers He claimed: "Under the Lib-Lab Pact there are, on average, only 147 police officers on the beat at any one time in the whole of Scotland. That is unacceptable.

"For too long now, people in Scotland have put up with a lack of visible policing."

The SNP was setting out its policies for tackling serious and organised crime.

The problem with this promise lies with the underlying fact that Lib Dems are in coalition with New Labour.

That was probably one of the biggest mistakes they could have made in terms of keeing their indivisuality, and credability.

Any promises made by Lib Dems now or in future, are ultimately at risk of being undermined, or scrutinised by their bedside partners New Labour. Who will always have the upper hand, and play down any policies that ruin their image.

So - whatever Lib Dems promise now or in future bears far less significance.
And the likelyhood of this being an even more desparate clutch at straws, and an electioneering gimmick is pretty high!

Strategic Voting to get New Labour out, and make Lib Dems see sense in their ridiculous power sharing coalition is the only way we can shake up the unbalance, and un-representative set up that is supposed to be called democratic representation . . . .
Representation of who exactly ? ?

The well to do, the middle and upper classes those who can afford to live comfortably when New Labour sneak increases on the unfair council tax. Where is the assistance for those on wages of £10,000 or less, or pensioners, who are still expected to pay huge amounts of Council Tax with no rebates or assistance!

Lib Dems are a misdemeanor and a "nobody" with their identity swallowed up by New Labours overwhelming influence and power. Period!!!
