Asylum family back in city after 55 days

A FAMILY of asylum seekers who spent 55 days in detention have returned to Glasgow.

Hasan and Fatma Aksu, along with their daughters Yamur, 4, Pinar, 14 and son Byram, 11, won the right to a High Court review of their removal.

The family, who are Turkish Kurds, were taken from Glasgow's immigration centre in February during their weekly signing on session.

Despite having lived in the city for seven years, they were flown to Yarlswood detention centre in Bedfordshire by the Home Office.
