Nice to see our socially sophisticated ladies showing real community spirit and enhancing our reputation abroad. Yes Graham we need to publish these stories to show that this behavior is unacceptable to the majoriy who always suffer for the minority.

Graham. Just because someone flies to Glasgow doesn't mean they are from Glasgow or live in Glasgow, so could you drop the smug superiority please. I didn't realise that London was such a crime-free location. Certainly wasn't when I lived there, or if you read any newspaper, local or national.

I was on that plane and the woman in question was verbally aggressive to the staff before everyone had even taken their seats. One of her pals tried to get her to shut up, but she wouldn't listen and the situation escalated very quickly. When they were asked to leave the aircraft, she headbutted the steward and tried to punch/poke him in the eye!
Sadly, it seemed inevitable that if trouble hadn't kicked off before we were airborne she would have invariably started something during the flight - the delay was very frustrating, but the staff were right to take the action they did.

Joe - I could be taking this the wrong way,but do you not think that Graham means Glasgow when he talks about his city - after all I doubt that there are many londoners who log on to the evening times site

Before I came out here, I asked a Scot, "what do they drink in Scotland?". He replied, "Neat whisky - and that's just the women!"
I now see what he was getting at. They breed 'em tough in Glasgow, don't they.

I really am shocked by this. I hope the women involved get what is coming up to them, and the police have enough evidence to charge them. I would urge anyone involved or who witnessed it to contact the police so they have more evidence! If it was my friend that was head butting people, I would be so ashamed- and certainly wouldn't associate myself with them again, not that I would be friends with anyone who was capable of something like this!

Steve. I was well aware he meant Glasgow as 'his city'. I was also aware he was being sarcastic about it. He obviously rates his new home much higher than Glasgow, and I was pointing out that London has more than its fair share of scum also. Some of the comments in response to this story reveal a lot of very snobby, superior and self-righteous twits. I didn't realise you had to be working class, or live in a council house, to be a scumbag when drunk. And imagine someone from apple-pie America with its all too frequent gun-toting, mass murdering rampages looking down their nose at Scotland because of some drunken fight. Get a grip, and some perspective.

But If I was to put the local American newspaper, and the Times newspaper on a set of scales. It would be by far, the times that would be the heaviest with the drunken, no good troublemakers. I know this for a fact, I read them both. I'm Scottish, and I'm not saying Americans are any better, but you must admit, theres a heck of a lot more of it where you are. Troublemakers that Is.
