A BOOZED UP skinhead has been jailed for 40 months after he rammed a broken Buckfast bottle into a man's face -because he didn't like the length of his hair.
Airdrie Sheriff Court heard how Christopher Henery, 21, suffered two horrific cuts, which needed 30 stitches and will leave him scarred for life.
Drunken teenage thug Anthony Bonnar, 17, from Glasgow, guzzled several bottles of tonic wine throughout the day, before carrying out the vicious and totally unprovoked attack on a motorway bus journey into the city.
Prosecutor Janice Green said: "Bonnar and his cousin had been travelling on a number of buses all day to occupy their time.
"Mr Henery got on at Moodiesburn and was sitting upstairs.
"Bonnar became rowdy and began shouting to Mr Henery to get a hair cut.
"He didn't react but could see he had a bottle of Buckfast in his hand."
The court heard then how the teenage thug for "no apparent reason" smashed the bottle against one of the metal poles on the bus and then stuck the broken part of the bottle into Mr Henery's face.
The driver stopped the bus and tried to stem the blood.
Such was the amount, however, the driver went off his route and drove him straight to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
Bonnar, of 64 Colintraive Crescent, Glasgow, admitted assaulting Mr Henery to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement by striking him with a broken bottle.
Defence lawyer Jim Friel said: "This was a fairly bizarre offence clearly contributed to by the consumption of a number of bottles of Buckfast wine."
