We in the States stand with Scotland (and England) today!!! We are unwaivering in our support!!

We will be at the mercy of maniacs like these guys until we actually invest in improved security. We all remember the recent documentary on Birmingham airport security - or lack of - and we need to learn lessons from this. Take a leaf out of the USA's book post 9/11, where they got rid of private security companies from their airports in favour of highly trained, highly motivated and HIGHLY PAID in-house security personnel. I have worked in the private security industry for over 18 years. In recent years in this country, investment in security has been slashed as big corporations try to squeeze even more profit out of already healthy accounts. It has to stop somewhere before there is a major catastrophe! There were, apparently, stories published around a week or two ago about terrorists targeting Scottish holidaymakers. If I've heard of these stories, the the UK Security Services must have heard them also. What did they do about it??

Are we not all at the mercy of these "manics" now??? Appeasement will not be the answer, for one concession by any country will require two in it's place and so on and so on. I am not sure of Scotland but Germany and England has a MESS on their hands with the numbers of immigrants from Middle Eastern countries within their borders.......For every 6-8 that blows themselves up or for the 12-14 that are captured and put in prison, there are hundreds more to take their place.......Not sure what the answer is going to be..........

Sorry Albsure, but why the Middle East? Yes I agree that a lot of terrorist attacks are coming from that region, but please read the reports, two Asian looking men have been arrested. Please don't believe the bile which comes from your presidents mouth that all evil stems from Iraq and it neighbours(eg take a look at South East Asia, where there are many terrorist groups, who just hate western society, Bali bombings for 1)Scotland and I reckon Englands problem is not immigrants from the Middle East, but immigrants from Eastern European countries. Personally all this Al Qaeda stuff does not fit. They are a well organised and funded terrorist organisation, who if you have a look at their history have made some big hits. Three missed car bombs are not the work of professional terrorists. Yes, they are terrorists, but not professionals. Osama and his crew would not have missed three times in two days.

Albsure, I think the US military have killed an awful lot more people than Alka Heeda have. I'm just saying.

The attack does seem a bit amateurish, but not all cells are financed direct from the Afghan mountains. What I find disturbing, is the fact that whoever planned the attack, waited until the school holidays and the airport would be packed with families and children. No matter who’s responsible for the attack, either Al Queda or a couple of miss guided guys in a Glasgow bed-sit looking for martyrdom. Being dead is the easy way out for cowards and when you are dead you are dead, no virgins, and no parties on the other side. I’m pleased there were survivors from the attack vehicle. They didn’t achieve their goal, suffering heavy burns into the bargain and now they have prison to look forward to. Must have been gods will.

i dont these muslim terror attacks will ever stop,my sympathy goes to the security services.Why dont we just round them all up and send them home,i know some of them were born here then send them to the land of there origin.They are always bleating about how badly they are treated in the UK,my answer to them is if it is so bad,go somewhere else.

I don't think these 'terrorists' will be found to have arrived in the UK from the middle-east, even if that is the source of their misguided inspiration (divine or otherwise) rather I am inclined to believe think we will find that these are the children of former immigrants, 2nd or 3rd generations that have believe that their families, their community and religion are discriminated against, mocked, trivialized, marginalised, socially economically or politically excluded from mainstream British life. Albsure, you folks crack me up - the states is unwaivering in support of Scotland (and England's) what? Not that many moons ago lots of US citizens lent their unwavering support to anti-British terrorism - filling the coffers of the IRA ... very democratic! Perhaps the solution you seek is to stop supporting autocrats (like Saddam) and appeasing the 'maniacs' (like George. Jnr).

[/quote] Fearful Mr. Dwyer's comments above are right on the money. While we sit around and blame everyone else the US, George Bush, supporters of the IRA, the Muslim influence continues to grow. The largest religious group, outside of atheist and agnostics in Glasgow alone are Muslims (20,000). By even the most conservative estimates, in 120 years England will be an Islamic state. The second most popular name given to a birth child in England today is "Muhammad" second only to Jack. So yes the great Satan America and George Bush and supporters of the IRA and the tooth fairy and Santa and any other scape goat our minds would like to try and absolve ourselves of our own missteps will soon be all for naught. Regretabbly and with great hopes that I am wrong, but with a forboding spirit, I feel an unleashing of Islamic furor over greater Eurpoe in the coming weeks and months that will be directly related to immigration policies or the lack thereof rather than some "easy answer" scape goat any of us can derive.

Please open your eyes Without U.S. foreign policy ,the tiny minority of religeous fundamentalists would have no support or sympathy that enables them to carry out these evil acts.There are similarities with the Irish situation where appalling government policy helped to recruit 'terrorists' How many Innocent Muslims have lost their lives in the Middle East this weekend due to U.S./U.K. foreign policy? I don’t know if it is religion related or just a bunch of nutters using religion as pretext for death and destruction. But I’ve been here for a while now and I think I can see where it stems. In the west we learnt to question our religion a long time back and therefore our religion has grown with us. In Islamic teaching the Qur’an is beyond reproach and should not be questioned or criticised. The nutters involved in these acts of terror have been indoctrinated and are ignorant to the world around them. These terrorists although educated, as Doctors (I would check if the qulifications are not just purchased on the internet), in the case of Glasgow Airport are not taught to question therefore rarely or never have an independent thought. So the verses quoted by Mr Dwyer have read and regurgitated in the wrong context and perceived as a Jihad against the west. Religion is born through ignorance, but the rest of the world has strived to rid themselves of this ignorance. Perhaps these nutters should wage their Jihad against ignorance.
