Posted by: pete, Bearsden on 12:01pm Fri 7 Dec 07 What's the point of having cctv - it never seems to be working when it's needed. Still, it seems a rather awkward place to dump the fridges. Posted by: tb303, London / Glasgow on 12:08pm Fri 7 Dec 07 Fly tippers are really going to go to the effort of dumping fridges in the central reservation and the ensure they are standing upright. Posted by: bubbleman, london on 12:11pm Fri 7 Dec 07 Posted by: steve4349, larbet on 1:33pm Fri 7 Dec 07 this should have been an entry for the turner prize,it is more pleasing to the eye than the winner, that was a man dressed up in a bear suit Posted by: jrb, glasgow on 3:43pm Fri 7 Dec 07 Posted by: daz, glasgow on 4:01pm Fri 7 Dec 07 anyways back to the topic of fridges! these are commercial fridges and should have a registration/serial number. easy to find out the last owner then. any corner shops missing a couple of fridges? Posted by: workinhard, Glasgow on 4:55pm Fri 7 Dec 07 as i said earlier - but has now been deleted - i reckon the guys who did this will soon be seen in a B&Q store having a dump in the bathroom section! practical jokers of the extreme variety! Posted by: tam-m, southside on 5:29pm Fri 7 Dec 07 Posted by: smarticus, Glasgow on 5:37pm Fri 7 Dec 07 This is a great idea. Someone intending to set up business selling cold drinks to the many thousands of motorists sitting in the usual rush hour gridlock on the M8. Posted by: thistlemad, Ayrshire on 6:04pm Fri 7 Dec 07 strange place to set up an "art" gallery. HOWEVER, why the feck did it take so long to remove them??????? And I`ll bet Amey make a fortune from this ... coning off a lane, then another 3 trucks, (one per fridge), twelve men (4 per fridge) and at least two to supervise!!!!! Posted by: Ronnie Cee, West End. on 7:14pm Fri 7 Dec 07 Posted by: leesome, Glasgow on 8:47pm Fri 7 Dec 07 Glasgow City Council this situation has arisen due to sending out mixed messages. The area above is used by graffiti artists with the blessing of GCC, its an utter shambles to allow our city to be openly vandalised and as we see, give them an inch and they take a mile. On this occasion the persons connected risking not only their own life, but the lives of drivers & passengers. Plenty of skate parks should exist to support this type of so called cultural art? Posted by: HOLY WILLIE, GLASGOW on 9:13pm Fri 7 Dec 07 Posted by: Jwil, Lanarkshire on 11:57pm Fri 7 Dec 07 A spokeswoman for Keep Scotland Beautiful said fridges contain CFCs, dangerous chemicals which damage the ozone layer. Ther had to be some smart ****! Posted by: HEATHER MACBRYDE, Inverclyde on 10:31am Sat 8 Dec 07 LOL how did no one see these people carry all these heavy friddes onto central reservation? surely there must have ben seen even by some drivers on the roads Posted by: The Missing City, Glasgow on 12:50pm Sat 8 Dec 07 Maybe the fridge installation was placed there intentionally (Nothing to do with "The Labour Party", they do things unintentionally). Its probably telling the drivers to "Chill Out" at peak periods instead of sitting in traffic queues with boiled noodles! Posted by: Voice of reason, Glasgow on 10:08am Mon 10 Dec 07 Obviously the CCTV is to monitor traffic not idiots running down the motorway with a fridge on their back.
