City gears up for scooter madness

GLASGOW city centre will be taken over by scooters and smart suits for the annual Mod weekender.

The event, which is taking place from June 26-29, will feature some of the UK's top Mod DJs, live music, dancing, record and clothing fairs and competitions.

The Twisted Wheel on Queen Street will play host to live sounds from top Glasgow ska band Rico's Torpedos on June 26.

Other highlights include a scooter competition and ride out through the city centre on June 29. Entry is free.

The weekender will be rounded off with a night of free music in the basement of the Twisted Wheel.

Don't forget the "M.A.G. Easter Egg Run" - on Sunday the 23rd March 2008 ;
At the SECC 12:00 noon for a 12:30pm start!
With 10,000 motorbikes, and scooters participating last year and over £30,000 raised for sick kids & other charities the event is not to be missed!

Meet at SECC 12:00 noon for a 12:30pm start
Bring along Easter Egg(s) for the kids and/or donation for Yorkhill Children's Foundation.
Riders of motorbikes, scooters, trikes and mopeds and all levels of experience are welcome.

Due to the large number of people attending the run these days there is too many for Yorkhill to cope with.
The first 3,000 (or so) to arrive at our SECC assembly point will be allowed to finish the run at Yorkhill whilst everyone else will need to follow the marshals back to the SECC.

It will be equally if not a hundered times better - be generous with your spare cash!
